May 22, 2011 – Turkey neck or chin is basically the loose excess skin which can be seen right in front of one’s neck. It got its name since it does appear just like that of a turkey wattle that is loosely hanging under the chin and on the neck. The muscle referred to as the platysma, which is responsible for the upward and downward movement of the jaw, can be firmed and toned down; however, a loose and sagging skin like that of a turkey chin which sits directly on top of the platysma muscle may still remain.
Now, in order for you to eliminate this excess loose skin, surgery maybe suggested, most especially if the sagging skin really needs some lifting. The result of such a procedure will surely be worth it; however, to go through surgery you will need huge amounts of money. If it happens that you are short on cash, yet still wish to tighten up your neck skin, then there are some facial workouts which you can perform for the skin of your neck that can give you that neck tightening without surgery. But then again, before you start performing such exercises, you will need to learn of some essential facts concerning the neck. The human neck is made up of a delicate formation of several bones which has sensitive nerves and blood vessels which might get injured or harmed with strenuous exercises.
The neck area is also the first part which gets older and where fats get easily accumulated. While facial exercises for the neck and chin can help you in eradicating sagging skin and excess chin fats, they can give you undue pain as well, especially if they are executed incorrectly. Hence, you need to implement extra care when performing such workouts, so as to avoid any injury and/or neck pain.
Here are some samples of facial exercises for the chin and neck;
- Stand or sit comfortably. Tilt back your head and look directly on the ceiling. Next, push your tongue onto the base of your mouth. Once you feel your neck muscles tighten up, move your chin down towards your neck and then again upward. Repeat the entire procedure for ten times everyday.
- Keep your head in a relaxed and comfortable position. Next, tilt back your head and continue moving up until you feel a slight pull on your neck skin. Once in that position, slowly slide your lower lip towards the upper lip. Keep it like so for a few seconds and then release and relax. Repeat for a couple of times more.
These are but a few examples of the exercises that you can do to target and tone the neck and chin area. After consistently performing these workouts, you will observe changes with regards to your sagging loose skin. It might not be that apparent at first since loose neck skin is pretty difficult to treat; however, just continue with exercising up until you attain your preferred neck structure. These workouts are not just great at eliminating saggy neck skin, but also make the area flexible and stronger to be able to better support your head as well as the posture of your whole body.
